Headlines Today had previously shown the pictures of these four VIP inmates, who enjoyed special privileges, including outings outside the bounds of the jail.

Sir, on behalf of PVCHR, I request you to look into the matter and take necessary action against the authorities who have facilitated the free movement of convicts and the special privileges made available to them.

The Karnataka jail authorities on Thursday ordered a probe into the free movement of four inmates outside the Bangalore Central Jail.

Hours after Headlines Today reported the matter, Karnataka ADGP (prisons) K. Srinivasan directed DIG (headquarters) K.V. Sharatchandra to investigate as to how the
convicts were allowed to leave the jail premises and move around freely.

The officer has been asked to complete his enquiry and submit the report by Thursday evening. The report would also look into how the jail rules were violated and who were the officials involved.

Headlines Today had shown the pictures of these four VIP inmates, who enjoyed special privileges, including outings outside the bounds of the jail.
